The Kolden Report: Moody Blues. December 29, 2012

Hi, kids!

Well, I've been at the Kolden Report for nearly another year!  It's been a privilege and an honor to share this ride we call '"life" with you.  Thank you all for your support.  Keep those comments coming!

I am looking ahead and wondering how I might improve the Kolden Report?  Same as last year, I'm asking you what you like best in the reports?  How might I improve the reports?  What don't you like?  What do you want more of?  Less of?

It's quite possible that you'll not hear from me again until next year so....Happy New Year!  I wish you ALL the very best 2013 has to offer.

And now, my frosty walkabout.  Enjoy!

Cotton ball sky.

Frost fingers.

Back lit in blue.

No two crystals are alike!

Sky sentinels.

Back lit burr bunch.

Shadowland.

Sandbar snow pack.  (Elizabeth, you asked about the sandbar?  Well HERE it is!)

Spray of shadow.

And the river, she's a rising.

White and blue wonder.

Ravishing reflection.

The river is ONE chunky monkey.

Delight in white.

Look how long some of these crystals are!

River steam turns into geometric crystals.

Shoreline wanderer.

Silver steam.  (I REALLY love this one.)

Alien world.

Finely flocked.

The shape of things to come.

Fairly frosted!

Top knot.

Frosted puff.  (Again...no TWO are alike....amazing!)

Weed wades.

Blue bliss.

Swizzle stick?

Fabularity.  (Yes... I make up words when the ones we already have just won't quite do!)

And again, a bit closer.

173 degrees of separation.  (  According to ice, a free panorama stitcher , this is 173.9 degrees horizontally.)

Big.  Orange.  Ball.  (Love that it's orange when it crests the horizon and as it climbs, turns silver).

Happy Trails, kids!

The kolden Report: A river runs through it. December 28, 2012

Hi, kids!

I have a reminder for those of you who have a balance at NEMHS after your insurance has paid OR  for those of you who are uninsured.   Until Monday, Dec 31st, you can pay half of what you owe and have the balance wiped clean.  This is quite a gift so get in and take advantage of it before Monday at 5pm.

It has been fairly chilly here in the patch (as we affectionately used to refer to Wolf Point or "dog patch").  Even so, I've managed a few shots for a report.

Montana Moon (It's been big and bright the past few nights and I can't get enough of it!)

Back to the future?

The camera struggled to focus due to floating ice crystals and steaming air.  (I will continue to practice....)

Shades of gray.

Winter wonderland.

Hawk perch.

Watching, warily.

Monochromatica.

The world is black.  The world is white....

Rising water.

...and a river runs through it.

Iceberg symphony.

Bliss, in brown.

Hats of white.

DEEP freeze.

"...like a bridge....over troubled water."

Pillar pose.

NO time to be swimming.

Snowbound.

Winter "coat".

"Frosty, the Snowman...'

"Hark, the herald angels sing!"

"Starry, starry night".

"The old grey mare, she aint what she used to be..."
