The Kolden Report: Catfish and rainbows, final installment.

     Hello, kids!

Here is the final installment of this trip.  Enjoy!

Brave and inquisitive.

Thistle bliss.

Cacti color.

The BIG picture.

Love the progression from gull in the  grass to clover to badlands.

The many colors of Nelson.

The big picture.  (Family reunion on the right.)

Nothing but Nelson.

The skies are always superb, in Montana.

Purple bells.

Bloom in progress.

Fly - over.

If you are driving a small car, watch for holes!  This one could get you stuck.

Fox tail finery.

Muskrat love.  (Seen from the canoe.)

Teetering in the wind.

Another fly-over!

Shine!

PINCERS!

Surreal sunset.

Decorated soldier.  (On a dart tip).

It's a clover year!

The big picture.

HERE is why all the flyovers were occurring.  Sparrows were changing "watch" on the nest at regular intervals.  I wondered:  Was it a family taking turns sitting on eggs or a community of sparrows?

This unorthodox boat trailer was seen coming toward the dock.

And yes, the boat owner was likely singing, "You picked a fine time to leave me loose wheel!"

But no matter, the boat was being launched!  A northern pike tournament was underway and this fella needed to FISH!

Launching was not as easy at one might think....

But they got the job done!

Turn out the lights, the party's over...

Up next:  Art in the Country!
