The Kolden Report: Montana Back Roads, Part two, November 1, 2013

     Hello, kids!

There is nothing finer than a carefree cruise in the great state of Montana, to satisfy a fall wanderlust.   The saga continues....

Antelope can maintain speeds of up to 60 mph for short periods of time.

Looks like an accident waiting to happen if that lead doe puts on the brakes...

But no.....there's room for everyone to run.  Look at the dirt flying under the rear doe's hooves...

First glimpse of the Highwood mountains.

Guardians. ( I love this one....)

Emotion in motion.  (Moody sky, ever changing...)

Typical Montana.  Plains, with mountains off in the distance.

Low slung clouds.

Square Butte Steed.

Mating season brings with it a degree of bravery (stupidity?) for males of all species.

You don't get this close to a Northeast Montana antelope, normally.  He's busy herding his does.

I can honestly call him "beautiful".  His soft gaze, distinctive markings, healthy coat and a....smile?!

One eye on us, one eye on his "girls".    Always watching....
